Safety touches
all we do. The proof of CCI’s
commitment to safety is in the numbers. CCI’s EMR rating
of 0.80 demonstrates our ongoing success in construction
project safety as evidenced by exceptionally low injury rates.
Over the course
of our history, we have repeatedly achieved excellent safety
ratings as a direct result of our practices, procedures,
and training.
Safety does not
come about by chance. CCI exercises multiple initiatives
to prevent accidents and protect the health and safety
of our workers and community members near work zones. These
include: |

|
|
|
- Safety meetings conducted
by construction safety experts
- Mandatory weekly
toolbox meetings to discuss project-specific safety
issues and resolve concerns (e.g., tips on responding
to traffic conditions or equipment use)
- Mandatory OSHA 10-hour
safety course
- Ample use of street
and work zone signage, barricades, traffic cones,
flagmen, high-visibility fluorescent vests for
all employees, fencing, A-frames, warning lights
(strobes where appropriate), and delineator poles
heavy equipment fitted with security mirrors, highly
visible warning lights, loud warning devices, and
computerized speed controllers
- Special equipment
training and annual driver 6-hour review course
- Cooperation with
our insurance company to manage risk and prevent
injury
|
| CCI achieves success in safety not merely by following
OSHA or DOT rules and regulations. We foster an atmosphere
of team collaboration, and we reward employees quarterly
based on safety excellence.
At CCI Companies,
safety is everyone’s business. |
